Cara and Lisa’s teaching is grounded in an unhurried, nurturing approach and a respect for the individual student. This weekend will give you the opportunity to develop your individual yoga practice in a focused and supportive environment. Under the guidance of these two experienced teachers you will be encouraged to cultivate attentiveness and acceptance in your practice.
Their approach to asana is based on an understanding of the relationship between the action of breathing, our connection to the ground and the response of the body. The asana practice will prepare us for periods of sitting where we explore various techniques to help bring steadiness and quiet to body and mind. There will be plenty of opportunity for relaxation, both within the classes and on walks in the beautiful countryside.
Cara and Lisa regularly teach yoga together. They both train and assess students on the London Yoga Teacher Training Course and are directors of the new London Yoga Teacher Training Introductory Course. They also teach monthly family yoga classes and provide training in teaching yoga to children and families with Calm for Kids.
Lisa completed her yoga teacher training in 1997 under the guidance of Mary Stewart, Sophie Hoare and Peter Blackaby. She teaches a full schedule of classes and workshops in Brighton and surrounding areas. Both as a yoga practitioner and as a teacher Lisa is interested these days in being patient and non-judgemental, finding comfort and feeling at ease within one’s body, with oneself and also in interactions with others.
Cara has been teaching yoga since 2000, having completed the British Wheel of Yoga’s teaching diploma with Peter Blackaby. She has a degree in philosophy and a particular interest in this aspect of yoga. Her teaching is inspired by the much-needed calm and clarity that her practice brings to her life.

This long weekend retreat in the inspiring surroundings of Lendrick Lodge provides the opportunity for us to take time to focus inwards, be attentive and consider our individual needs as we move through the seasons from spring into summer.
The retreat includes asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra (sound) and mudra (hand gestures), that both boost our energy and help us to feel calm and nourished.
