Scottish School of Herbal Medicine, Founders and
Directors of Research and Education

Maureen and Keith Robertson founded the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in 1992 and remain lecturers, research supervisors and Directors of Research and Education. They are active members of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists with practices in Glasgow and the Isle of Arran. They are firmly committed to spreading the news of the health giving benefits through diet and nutrition. Both have undertaken many different types of detoxification processes including Ayurvedic panchakarma in India and now help patients in their clinics and their students tailor make their own detox programmes.

Keith Robertson will be sharing the latest scientific findings on the optimum foods and the nutritional needs of the body. Keith will share groundbreaking findings that will support each person on this week, adding life changing gifts to take away.

Maureen Robertson will specifically share teachings on creating your own personalised nutrition and detoxification plan. Maureen will focus on body systems where body systems and re-balance needs to be addressed. Maureen’s focus will include

Keith Robertson MSc FNIMH
Established practising Medical Herbalist, Remedial Masseur, experienced Lecturer and Director of Education for the Scottish School. He is an active member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the European Herbal Practitioners Association. He has been accused of being an "entertaining" teacher! With a keen interest in plant studies, from organic gardening to holistic plant research, he is a regular defender and exponent of the benefits of Herbal Medicine, through public speaking, press and radio. He has pioneered the return of the "Apprenticeship Model" to Herbal training and his years of personal experience studying, practising and teaching Herbal Medicine help shape the School's philosophy and style.

Maureen Robertson MSc MNIMH
Practising Medical Herbalist & Aromatherapist, with a background in Pharmacology. She is committed to developing appropriate models for holistic cruelty free research into the efficacy and advancement of Herbal Medicine. As Research Co-ordinator her academic background and current networking skills have helped firmly establish the School's new MSc programme.

Maureen’s knowledge, expertise and passion for detoxifying the body and mind is an inspiration for positive change in others.

Stephen Mulhearn – Breathwork facilitator and Native American Sweat Lodge teacher

Stephen Mulhearn's years of Shamanic study and experiential learning have given him a profound ability to support and inspire others.

Stephen, who is a Shamanic practitioner and former health and fitness professional, will bring to the table, ancient Native American purification rituals and conscious breathing techniques which activate the body’s lymphatic system for on-going cleansing. Along with these processes you can also expect the bliss filled experience of a water re-birth in the purpose built healing pool. Stephens success with clients in the past include helping a Glasgow man improve his heart to a point where doctors changed their mind about the need for him to undergo a triple heart bypass. His work has also helped clients lose stones of unwanted body fat.

Kim Tan – Colonic Hydrotherapy

Kim Tan is a State Registered Nurse who has worked in the NHS for twenty two years. In the last fourteen years, she was a Nursing Sister, specialized in Coronary Care Nursing; Kim gradually became interested in Alternative Health and is now qualified in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Polarity, Bach Remedy- Balancing Mixtures Treatment, Reiki, Qi Gong and Hopi-candling. She is now concentrating mainly on Colonics, because of her firm belief in Internal Cleansing.

Kim is the longest practicing Colonic Therapist in the West of Scotland and is passionate in what she does. She is encouraged by the shift in the health of the clients as they return for each session as they have more energy, vitality, and most of them have a younger appearance.

Carol Williams - Massage

Carol has walked a spiritual path for many years, gathering great resources, rituals, teaching stories and gems to share.

Over the years she has studied and worked with the diversity of behaviours that we all experience.

Carol will be providing each person with a massage specifically aimed at supporting their detoxification journey on this week. her nurturing energy leaves you feeling blissfully at peace.

Catriona Stewart MSc MNIMH – Diagnostic and Energetic Specialist

Catriona Stewart trained with the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine Glasgow, firstly gaining a PGDip in Herbal Medicine with membership of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. She also gained a Master of Science degree in 2002.

Catriona has a deep passion for Herbalism, she enjoys working with clients in a way that empowers them to take control of their lives and health. She has a great enthusiasm for research and continuous study within the field of Herbalism. Her experience and knowledge combined with intention for positive results create a positive environment for clients and groups. Her clients receive a competent, professional service with a friendly open approach geared towards achieving greater health and well being.

Victoria Mulhearn MCSP SRP Bsc (Hons) – Qi Gong Energy Therapist

Victoria Mulhearn is a Physiotherapist trained in Acupuncture and has ten years worked with Reiki for she is a Reiki Master and teacher. Over the Last few years Victoria has deepened her studies of energetic work by training as a Medicinal Qigong Practitioner with her Masters Taya Stanley and Barbara Briner. Her passion for Medicinal Qigong weaved with her in-depth medical and spiritual studies makes for a uplifting start to your day!

As a mother and teacher Victoria flows her teachings through every area of her life.

Her own personal story of manifesting dreams through using these techniques has inspired many. She attracts people from all walks of life to develop with her - doctors, healers and a whole spectrum of people who insist on a high level of excellence and professionalism in their training.
