From
Edinburgh take the M9 for Stirling and Perth. Do not go into
Stirling but continue on the M9 towards Perth. Take junction
10 for Callander and the Trossachs (A84). Continue on the
A84 straight through Callander to the village of Kilmahog
where you will come to the A821 turn off on the left hand
side marked for Aberfoyle. Take this turning and continue
on this road for 5 miles and we are on the right hand side
opposite a farm. Please see the above map for extra directions.
From Glasgow take the M80 marked for Stirling then on the
outskirts of Stirling watch out for the M9 marked for Perth
take the M9 and do not go into Stirling, then as above.
By train:
Take a train to Stirling (regularly from Glasgow Queen Street
and Edinburgh Waverley and also GNER Inverness train from
London Kings Cross). At Stirling catch a bus from Stirling
bus station adjacent to the train station to Callander - at
5 minutes past the hour and the last bus leaves Stirling at
1805. On arrival in Callander take a taxi - 01877 331240 -
to Lendrick Lodge. This option will cost you approximately
£20 one way.
Another possibility is (especially if you are coming by
train from London) go to Dunblane train station and take a
taxi to Lendrick Lodge the taxi would be approximately £20
to £25 and you would need to book in advance as there are
no taxi ranks at Dunblane.
By plane:
The closest
airport is Edinburgh although Glasgow International is also
fine. For car rentals we would recommend www.easyrentacar.com
as they are by far the cheapest option if you book in advance
and they are at Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports. Most of the
other well known car hire firms also operate out of both airports.
You can
also catch the shuttle bus into Edinburgh or Glasgow city
Centres and be dropped at the main train stations.
